What does L.R.E. mean?

When determining the proper placement for a student with special education needs, or deciding where services will be provided, the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) must be considered. A student’s IEP team must consider what is necessary so that the students is not denied access to Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). A more restrictive setting shall only be considered when FAPE cannot be provided in a less restrictive placement. If you have questions or concerns regarding placement, LRE, or your child’s access to FAPE, please reach out. We are happy to help!
