About the event
Wondering what all of the hubbub about mindfulness is within human services lately and whether you should incorporate mindfulness into your service delivery? Would you like to increase your engagement with the here and now and be more “present” for those you live and work around? Mollie Horner-King reviews what mindfulness is, research on the benefits of mindfulness strategies and talks about how to incorporate mindfulness into your everyday routine within both your personal and work life. Within this training, learners participate by actively engaging in mindfulness practice, led by the trainer. Practitioners will learn to utilize mindfulness practice in their own lives and during delivery of therapy services for persons with developmental disabilities. Practitioners will learn to create conditions of generalization for mindfulness practice for themselves and their clients, making the skills more likely to be used outside of the therapy setting in everyday life. This workshop will provide 1.5 hours of Continuing Education for: Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA), Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) and Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Advanced Practice Nurse (ANP), Registered Nurse (RN) & Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Continuing Education Certificates will be provided to all registered attendees.
