More and more people are being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) each day which is changing the landscape of services for adult providers. How can we best serve these individuals? What are their needs? Are we as an agency prepared to work with them? In this training we will learn to recognize the characteristics of ASD and how it can affect a person’s life. The importance of obtaining a diagnosis and how it can impact services will be addressed. There will be discussion of what techniques are the most likely to be successful and how to pivot to ensure the greatest levels of success for the person and agency. This workshop will provide 2.0 hours of Continuing Education for: Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA), Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) and Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Advanced Practice Nurse (ANP), Registered Nurse (RN) & Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Continuing Education Certificates will be provided to all registered attendees.
